Clinical supervision for Cbt therapists
If you are seeking private online CBT supervision delivered by an experienced BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, then you’ve come to the right place.
Clinical supervision is designed to enhance your CBT skills, knowledge and practice. I can provide either group or 1.1 supervision at a time that works best for you. I can provide supervision on either a weekly, fortnightly, or monthly basis. Please get in touch using the contact form below, if you would like to discuss supervision arrangements and fees.
Clinical supervision can support you in different aspects of CBT:
Case formulation: CBT supervision can help you with the individual protocols and models of CBT formulation. We can work together to develop an idiosyncratic formulation for your client, which can help guide you both throughout the therapy journey. I can provide further reading and resources for the different models of CBT, as well as help support you in adapting models to fit the individual need of your clients.
Session structure: Supervision can help you to think about the structure of your sessions, including things like agenda setting, reviewing homework. Supervision can also help you with specific techniques, such as summarising, empathy, effective questioning, and guided discovery. Furthermore, CBT supervision can help you to think about adaptations to the session structure to fit the needs of your clients, such as how to adapt the CBT session for neurodiversity.
Intervention planning: CBT supervision can help you to think about how to implement evidence-based CBT interventions, using the client’s formulation at the heart of the process. Supervision can help you to refresh your skills and experience of using CBT inerventions, such as challenging core beliefs, cognitive distortions, designing behavoural experiments, using exposure therapy, conducting ERP, and boosting motivation and hope in depressed clients. CBT supervision will also help you to promote flexibility within your practice, so that you can adapt and develop your intervention plan as your client’s needs evolve.
Collaborative and reflective process: We will work collaboratively together to achieve the best possible outcomes. Your goals and learning needs will shape the supervision sessions, and we will work together to tailor the sessions to your level of experience and competence. We will also use the supervision space to reflect on your work and to explore any blocks or issues that you are facing in your clinical work. We will also explore the therapeutic relationships with your clients and work together to try and repair any ruptures to the therapeutic alliance.
Ensure ethical conduct: Supervision helps to ensure that therapists are adhering to the professional codes of conduct, as specified by the BABCP (https://babcp.com/about/who-are-babcp/our-policies/standards-of-conduct-performance-ethics/)
Professional Accreditation: I can assist therapists in meeting the standards for professional accreditation and re-accreditation, allowing you to advance in your role and continue to practice in accordance with the BABCP’s criteria (https://babcp.com/what-is-accreditation/cognitive-behavioural-psychotherapist-accreditation/)
