Marie Smith, CBT Therapist and Supervisor
PGDip, PGCert, MSc, BSc. (BABCP Accredited)
My name is Marie Smith and I am a fully qualified CBT Therapist. I trained at King's College London and hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I am also a certified Couple therapist after training with Tavistock Relationships London.
I have a vast range of experience in helping people to overcome difficulties, such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, eating disorders, stress, sleep, and relationship issues. I have worked with individuals and couples, helping people to explore the reasons behind their problems and ways to overcome the issues that might be holding them back from reaching their goals.
I can provide a safe space to explore any difficulties that you might be experiencing. I will never judge you or tell you what to do. The aim of therapy will be to work out the solutions together, working as a team to try out different ways of overcoming the problem. I will support you throughout the journey and help you to reach your goals.
For me, the most important aspect of therapy is the relationship between the therapist and client. I aim to provide a safe space to help develop an open and trusting relationship. I can support you by listening to your concerns with understanding and empathy, as well as working together to help guide you towards your goals and reach your full potential.
I have also qualified as a CBT supervisor, after studying a training programme at Guildford University. I have 2 years experience of supervising both newly qualified and experienced CBT Therapists. I also have managerial experience within NHS settings, where I have mentored and supervised teams.
